Missions

We support mission within the United Kingdom and in various overseas countries. The support of mission is a key component of the work of the church.

The strategy for the work of mission is directed by the elders who are advised by a Missionary Council within the church which is under the chairmanship of one of the elders.

The Missionary Council meets quarterly to discuss the needs of the missionaries that are supported by the church, to meet with missionaries that are on home assignment, to consider new candidates for mission and to organize and plan the missionary weekend that takes place on an annual basis.

The Missionary Council also provides essential information to the church in relation to matters for praise and matters for prayer. This information provides up-to-date news of each of the missionaries that encourages correspondence between members of the church and our missionaries.

Our missionaries are also supported by the Home Groups each of which assumes a measure of responsibility for communication with missionaries whilst they are away and support for them whilst they are at home.

We also support our missionaries in prayer by having a Missionary Prayer meeting on alternate Thursday evenings.

The missionaries who we support and the parts of the world in which they work are here. By clicking on the appropriate links you will find detailed information about each of our missionaries.

Each year we support a number of our young people who choose to spend part of their summer holidays on short term assignments in the United Kingdom and overseas.

These have proved very enriching to the individuals concerned and has been the means of a number being challenged by God for full time service in mission.
